چکیده

The degree to which emergent surfaces are correlated in late Asbian carbonate successions Britain and Ireland is assessed by the integration of detailed biostratigraphy diversity trends foraminifers. Data related Trowbarrow Quarry section northern England, provides a reference for upper because its rich assemblages high sampling density. Diversity shown be non-random, possess cyclic behaviour, can quantitatively between sections. allow stratigraphic segmentation into 13 intervals foraminiferal trends, sub-divide coarser-resolution biozones sub-biozones. Similar recognised sections hundreds kilometres away from Trowbarrow, South Wales, southeastern western Ireland, facilitating more precise correlation strata. These highlight coeval nature rhythms these regions, thus, establishing stratigraphy. This new assessment also enables better discrimination ‘missing beats’ large hiatuses successions. establishment this rhythmic stratigraphy permits recognition occurrence some biostratigraphical markers, enabling amendment biostratigraphic mismatches.

Frequency-Domain Blind Source Separation of Many Speech Signals Using Near-Field and Far-Field Models

We discuss the frequency-domain blind source separation (BSS) of convolutive mixtures when the number of source signals is large, and the potential source locations are omnidirectional. The most critical problem related to the frequency-domain BSS is the permutation problem, and geometric information is helpful as regards solving it. In this paper, we propose a method for obtaining proper geome...

Stable determination of a scattered wave from its far-field pattern: the high frequency asymptotics

We deal with the stability issue for the determination of outgoing time-harmonic acoustic waves from their far-field patterns. We are especially interested in keeping as explicit as possible the dependence of our stability estimates on the wavenumber of the corresponding Helmholtz equation and in understanding the high wavenumber, that is frequency, asymptotics. Applications include stability r...

High frequency of genetic diversity of Plasmodium vivax field isolates in Myanmar.

Malaria is one of the most serious problems threatening human health in Myanmar. Although the morbidity and mortality rates due to malaria have been gradually declining, Myanmar still contributes to a large proportion of malarial death in the South-East Asia region. However, little is known about the nature and extent of genetic diversity of the malarial parasites circulating in Myanmar. In thi...

Far-field acoustic holography onto cylindrical surfaces using pressure measured on semicircles

A simple formula was recently proposed by Williams @J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 99, 2022–2032 ~1996!# for imaging pressure and velocity on a vibrating circular cylindrical shell using the far-field pressure measured along a meridional semicircle. The method is examined and some new results are obtained. The procedure is generalized to handle cylindrical surfaces of noncircular but convex cross section....
